Long Overdue Updates

James Steele getting loose in the club. Click for the full image.

So a lot of things have gone down since the last update. The Metro Amateur Qualifiers went down successfully at all of the stops; the first annual Kingston Bike Festival went off and was full of some wild action; ExpoCycle 2008 in Montreal came and went; and tons of riding was done all over the place. So now that things have started to relax a bit, it's time for some updates! New products will be online and updated soon enough as there are a lot of exciting things on their way into the country as well as some team updates.

If you wondering what the picture of James has to do with anything, he has a new pic up on the Kink site and has been filming a ton for their new team video, Safety First, which will be premiering on October 25th in Rochester. James and I will be in attendance and so should everyone else. Check out some of the unused footage here with some bangers from James. James also just got hooked up with some help from the crew at Time Bomb for some fresh kicks.

Keep watching for all of the new changes and updates!

To start things off, the Bicycle Film Festival has made it's way to Toronto this year. It started on Wednesday with a great art gallery and party downtown that Jay and I attended while he was here and continues throughout the week to the 26th. The festival celebrates all things bicycle related and features a ton of great short films from some very prominent filmmakers. Check out the link above for all of the details. On the last day, there's a jam going down at the new Wallace Emerson Park from 1-5. It's going to be a fun, grassroots style jam. Check the poster. After that, there will be a free night session at the Core warehouse. Be sure to come out to both, it's sure to be a great day.

Jay, as I said, was in town for a while and hung out around the warehouse. While he was here, Kris Draper from the Detroit Red Wings stopped by to pick up a Redline Raid for his son, in red of course. Check the photo from Jay's camera phone. He and Jay reminisced about how the Wings stomped out the Canucks a few years back, funny stuff. Kris is a great guy and pretty down to earth.

Lastly, Tyler Rule from the Skatepark of Banff sent in some photos of his ride. Check it out here. Here's a photo of Tyler sliding a rail with one of the best backdrops I've seen in a while. Tyler also wanted me to let everyone know that the skatepark has a Facebook page, and seeing as how Facebook rules most peoples' lives, I figured I'd post the link. So go here and check it out.

Other than that, the new wethepeople completes are set to roll in as well as a bunch of other great stuff in the next few weeks, so keep watching!

Friday the 13th News

Click the picture to see a larger preview.

Happy Friday the 13th to everyone, and for all those suffering from paraskavedekatriaphobia (fear of Friday the 13) chill out, it's just another day.

It's been a while since we've had any team news so I figured I'd post a few bits of info. I was just talking to James last night and he informed me that he and our wethepeople rider Sam Lowe are going on a roadtrip from here in Toronto to the east coast at the end of the month. Sam is orginally from the east coast so they're sure to have a good time. They're hoping to film a lot while there out there and get their shred on. James is HAF! Ask him what that's all about next time you see him.

I had the pleasure of hanging out with Matt Beyers again during Elevation a few weeks ago. Matt is always a great guy to hang out with and can throw down. Matt rode well during the contest, but a few slams kept him out of the finals. Matt is probably either riding or digging at his trails as you read this.

Our other new rider, the T-Dot legend Chris Silva, is out of comission for a bit with a tweaked wrist. Chris had to miss out on some demos at the recent Toronto Grand Prix, but will be back shredding in no time.

Karl Engstrom will be shooting some photos with Dave Hawthorne from RED magazine this weekend, so we'll hopefully have some new pics from him.

Jaumell Campbell is finishing up his two weeks as a visiting pro at Muskoka Woods today. He is set to fly out tomorrow, so him and I are headed to the Core warehouse tonight for a session.

That's all for now. I'm off to Thailand for a bit and will be sure to post an update with all of the new products we'll have when I get back. Adios!

New MacNeil by the boatload

Click the picture to see a larger preview.

In addition to all of the Kink completes and Animal goods, we have also received all of the new MacNeil goods for the summer. We have new colours in the Whitton (black, teal, and bronze), new colours in the Bibi (dark blue and white), new colours in the Deuce Deuce (bronze, and orange) and the new Gary Young V2. Gary's new frame has been slimmed down and now has brake mounts on the chainstays. The frame also comes in some hot split colourways including black/white, tan/orange, and lime green/army green . On top of the new frames, we've also received the new Zoomer grips (best grips ever!) and a new batch of bronze front and rear hubs that feature the same 'Swagger print' as the stems. We have a limited number of the hubs, so you best get on it.

All of these goodies are only at Ten Pack West right now. If you are from the east and want to stake your claim on something, give the West office a call and get it done.

New Animal Gear

I got back from Elevation on Monday night and was greeted by some new Animal stuff when I got to the office on Tuesday morning. Continuing with the great styling of their previous models, the newest New Era hats, the Caminal and the Yanks, look amazing. Also, as they always do, Animal has added a new colour to their Edwin grips, burgundy. Get some fresh goods!

As I said, I got back from Elevation on Monday night and it was, as usual, an amazing weekend. I'd post pictures, but there are thousands all over the internet already, so I'll just post this one. Thanks Red Bull for a great weekend!

Also, just as a little teaser of sorts, a ton of new stuff is set to hit the shelves here at Ten Pack. We'll have the new MacNeil frames in along with new Kink complete bikes, and the new fall line of Orchid shoes within the next few weeks.

Keep watching here for pics of everything as it rolls in. Have fun!

Session at The Compound

Click the picture to see a larger preview.

Yesterday we had a great session at The Compound with everyone. After a quick session at the Vanderhoof park here in Toronto, Harrison, Wade, Silva, and myself loaded into the van and made our way to The Compound. We showed up and were later joined by James, Jamie, and Chad from Shook. Everyone had a great time, they have a great scene going on there and were extremely hospitable to all of us. A lot of the locals were ripping it up as well. Thanks a lot to Kathy and Guy and everyone else at The Compound for everything. Check out some of the photos I shot here.

Tonight we'll be at Core (the shop) for a little visit/BBQ and will then be heading to the warehouse for an all night session. Check back for more pics from that, and give Greg at Core a call if you don't know where the shop or park are. See ya tonight!

As I'm writing this, Wade is just finishing up putting his bike together. He and Harrision and Jamie just flew in a couple of hours ago. Tomorrow, Wade and Harrision will be joined by our new riders, James Steele and Chris Silva for a visit/session at The Compound in Hamilton. We're planning on getting there
